Welcome to Schrader Cellars. We are proud to offer our portfolio of single vineyard wines from Napa Valley's most historic estates along with our pioneering efforts in California's emerging appellations.
The past few months have been very exciting and we are delighted to share with you our great news:
This month, Senior Editor James Laube, Wine Spectator, awarded top honors to our 2006 Schrader "Old Sparky" and 2006 Schrader T6 Cabernets — two "99 point" ratings — the highest score ever given to American wine by Wine Spectator through their blind tasting program (fyi, no American wine has ever received a "100 point" rating through the Wine Spectator blind tasting program).
We were especially honored as these two ratings marked a historic achievement. We are the only American wine producer to have ever received two "99 point" ratings from Wine Spectator.
More good news, in December 2008, renowned wine critic Robert M. Parker, The Wine Advocate, published his notes and reviews from his most recent visit to Northern California (issue #180) and, hold onto your hats, the 2006 Schrader "Old Sparky" Cabernet and 2006 Schrader CCS Cabernet received two perfect "100 point" scores!
In 30-year history of The Wine Advocate, our 2006 Cabernets scored an unprecedented achievement, no other wine producer had ever earned two "100 point" scores for two Cabernets from the same vintage. The good news continued to flow as Mr. Parker gave our 2007 barrel samples top estimates of 98 - 100 points!
In November 2008, we scored a double-hitter when the esteemed editors of Wine Spectator ranked our 2005 Schrader T6 Cabernet Sauvignon #20 on Wine Spectator's "TOP 100" (the highest ranked California Cabernet) and then Senior Editor James Laube placed our 2005 Schrader T6 Cabernet and 2005 Schrader CCS Cabernet on his celebrated "Top-Scoring California Cabernets" list for 2008. What a month! We were truly honored to be included on these prestigious rosters.
In addition to all this good news in the press, we are delighted to report we celebrated a spectacular harvest in 2008 with on-target yields and outstanding fruit quality. We look forward to watching these wines develop in the barrel over the coming months.
Finally, we want to thank you for your continued support and enthusiasm for our wine program. For us, sharing our wines with friends and family is the most enjoyable part of making wine. With our new path in customer service, we look forward to creating a great experience for you from start to finish.
