portfolio of single vineyard wines representing both Napa Valley's most
prestigious and historic vineyard estates along with our efforts in
dynamic and compelling new appellations.
Hot off the press, we are delighted to share with you our big wine news:
Our portfolio of 2004 Cabernet Sauvignons have achieved an historic,
first-ever, Wine Spectator Grand Slam-four wines, four "Classic" ratings.
(95-100 pts.) Schrader 97 pts., Schrader "CCS" 97 pts., Schrader "RBS" 96
pts., and Schrader "Old Sparky" 95 pts.
More big news—Mr. Robert Parker of The Wine Advocate tasted our 2005
wines and 2006 barrel samples and we are delighted to report the 2005s
received a wonderful report card with all wines receiving scores from 92-
96 pts. For the 2006 barrel samples, the feedback was fabulous with all
wines receiving top score estimates of 96-98 pts.
It's all good news.
For the 2008 harvest, the early spring rains set a great stage for the
coming growing season. Just after bud set, we were hit with a short spell
of cooler morning temperatures that posed a threat to our new buds, but
we are delighted to report our vines made it through just fine. Right now,
the temperatures are warming up and the vines are vigorously pushing
forth with new growth. It is all looking good here in the Napa Valley. We
will keep you posted as the season progresses.
