Dear Friends of Wine,
Welcome to Schrader Cellars. We are extremely proud to present a compelling portfolio of single
vineyard wines from Napa Valley's most historic estates along with our efforts in California's emerging
appellations.
In the Napa Valley, the 2010 season started off with an extended period of heavy rain that continued
through the early spring. As the availability of water is always a concern in farming, we are happy to report
our local reservoirs are well stocked at near normal capacity. Though we have worn holes in our rain boots,
we are thrilled to start off the growing season with a full bucket.
Our big news — we are proud to announce the release of our 2008 Schrader
Cabernet Sauvignons.
In another brilliant effort by our winemaker Thomas Brown and his amazing A-Team, our 2008 vintage
Schrader Cabernets offer tremendous depth, purity of fruit character and an overall completeness that make
them the perfect follow-up to our history-making 2007 vintage wines. Though Mother Nature threw us
some curve balls during the 2008 growing season, T.B. and the team diligently walked the line and crafted
another stunning portfolio of benchmark Napa Valley Cabernets.
On the great news front, we are delighted to report that Robert M. Parker, Jr., The Wine Advocate, awarded
ALL SIX of our 2007 Schrader Cabernets top level "Extraordinary" ratings (96-100 points). While
this achievement alone took our breath away, Mr. Parker added to the excitement by honoring
both our 2007 Schrader CCS and 2007 Schrader "Old Sparky" Cabernets with perfect "100-point"
scores for the second vintage in a row! This is the first time in the 31-year history of The Wine Advocate
that two wines from the same producer have hit the top mark for back-to-back vintages. Needless to say,
we have been spinning ever since we received this outstanding feedback.
More great news, Senior Editor James Laube, Wine Spectator, awarded two 99 point top score ratings
to our 2006 Schrader "Old Sparky" and 2006 Schrader T6 Cabernets. To date, 99 points is the highest
score ever awarded to an American wine by Wine Spectator through their blind tasting program and it was
the first time in the magazine's history one American winery received two top ratings.
In October, Wine Spectator released their prestigious "James Laube's Top-Scoring California
Cabernets for 2009" list where, we are ecstatic to report, four Schrader Cabernets garnered key
placements. This annual summary is a celebrated roster is a who's-who in California Cabernet and we were
truly honored to have our 2006 Schrader "Old Sparky" and 2006 Schrader T6 Cabernets hold the top two
slots!
Most recently, our 2006 Schrader CCS Cabernet Sauvignon was voted the #1 top scoring wine (by a
15-point margin) with wine aficionados at the prestigious Executive Wine Seminars review of 2006
vintage Cabernets. Unbelievably, this is the third year in a row that Schrader Cabernet has received the
top-vote honor amongst a flight of Napa Valley Cabernet legends.
As always, we want to sincerely thank you for your continued support and enthusiasm for our wine
program. For us, sharing our wines with friends and family is the most enjoyable part of making wine. We
look forward to creating a great experience for you from start to finish.
All our best,
