PRESS NOTES ON 2003 SCHRADER CELLARS CABERNET SAUVIGNON

2003 SCHRADER CABERNET SAUVIGNON, Beckstoffer To-Kalon Vineyard

Rated 95 Pts. The 2003 Cabernet Sauvignon Oakville, from Clones 4 and 337 (the same vineyard source), sees a small
amount of Taransaud barrels along with the Darnajou. It offers wonderful sweetness and opulence, and could be a Pomerol if
it weren't 100% Cabernet Sauvignon. Its deep purple color is accompanied by a big sweet nose of creme de cassis, espresso
roast, smoke, licorice, and hints of caramel and coffee. Full-bodied, unctuously textured and opulent, with great purity, depth,
and texture, this wine should drink well young, but age beautifully for 15 or more years. (Robert M. Parker, The Wine Advocate)

2003 SCHRADER CABERNET SAUVIGNON RBS, Beckstoffer To-Kalon Vineyard

Rated 94 Pts.
The 2003 Schrader RBS Cabernet Sauvignon (Clone 337 from the Beckstoffer To-Kalon Vineyard) exhibits
wonderful pure cassis fruit, hints of licorice and roasted herbs, a long, concentrated attack and mid-palate as well as finish,
with big volume and texture. It is supple-textured with sweet tannin and low but adequate acidity. This wine can be drunk now
or cellared for 12-15 years. (Robert M. Parker, The Wine Advocate)

2003 SCHRADER CABERNET SAUVIGNON T6, Beckstoffer To-Kalon Vineyard

Rated 94 Pts.
Rated 94 Pts. Dense and chewy, with a rich, massive core of earthy currant, wild berry, cedar and rye, it firms up on the finish, with taut tannins that offer a hint of chicory. The finish keeps revealing extra flavor nuances. Best from 2008 through 2013. (James Laube, Wine Spectator)

Rated 92 Pts. The backward, tannic 2003 Cabernet Sauvignon T-6 (Clone 6 from the Beckstoffer To-Kalon Vineyard) comes
across as Bordeaux-like because of the tannic structure. It is bigger, richer, and fuller-bodied than the RBS, with tremendous
depth, power, and concentration, but it is more of a long-term proposition than something for immediate gratification. This
wine requires 2-3 years of bottle age and should drink well for 15-20 years. (Robert M. Parker, The Wine Advocate)

2003 SCHRADER CABERNET SAUVIGNON OLD SPARKY, Beckstoffer To-Kalon Vineyard

Rated 94+ Pts
. The 2003 Cabernet Sauvignon Old Sparky is essentially a selection of the best barrels. A big, structured
cuvee, it is full-bodied, dense, and as backward as the 2003 T-6, but with sweeter cassis-like aromas and flavors. This big,
rich, bold, boisterous Cabernet Sauvignon will benefit from 2-3 years of bottle age and should keep for two decades.
(Robert M. Parker, The Wine Advocate)

Rated 94 Pts. Medium ruby. Blackberry, minerals and licorice on the nose. A dense, sweet fruit bomb in the mouth, with lush black fruit flavors offering outstanding persistence. Tannins are quite fine. All four of these wines were aged for 20 months in 100% Darnajou barrels, with the exception of the wine labeled simply cabernet sauvignon, which was aged in a 90/10 blend of Darnajou and Taransaud. (Stephen Tanzer, International Wine Cellar)
